Professionally trained in mediation/arbitration methods, including advanced skills techniques from Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, California.

After practicing in a variety of settings spanning criminal prosecution, insurance defense, in-house corporate law and solo practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Ms. Middleton began mediating full-time in March, 1991. The experience gained in mediating thousands of cases has allowed her to develop, refine and employ highly-developed mediation techniques focusing on risk-analysis and likely-trial outcome. Over the last 19 years, she has mediated and/or arbitrated over 2,700 cases, including multi-million dollar cases, personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, worker’s compensation, maritime, and complex, multi-party matters.

Ms. Middleton completed the renowned Center for Dispute Resolution mediation training in Washington, D.C., and trained at Pepperdine University School of Law, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution: Advanced Mediation: Skills & Techniques.

Memberships & Affiliations

Elizabeth has lectured extensively on mediation throughout Louisiana including presentations to the Alexandria, Monroe, Natchitoches and Shreveport Inns of Court, local and State Bar Association C.L.E. programs, the American Bar Association and state-wide and regional meetings of national insurance companies. She was the 2003-2005 Chairman of the ADR Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is a member of the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association.
