Nancy Huston has been working full time as a mediator since 1991, having conducted more than
5000 mediations in nearly 20 years. The subject matter of these disputes has ranged from
general negligence to FELA, Jones Act, employment law, complex commercial transactions,
corporate beak-ups, and professional liability. She is a JD graduate of the University of Texas
Law School. She has resided in Houston for more than 30 years but has undertaken mediations
across Texas, traveling to any venue when necessary.
She believes skilled mediators should master the details of the dispute, assess the personalities
involved and actively participate in using this information to reach a resolution. Tenacity, she
believes, is the most important attribute in a mediator, though patience and a good ear are handy as well.
