Biographical

A native of Tampa, this Jesuit High School graduate earned his degree in communications from the University of Florida. Anthony studied law at both the South Texas College of Law and Stetson University before graduating in 1996. Following law school, Anthony began his career at the Office of the State Attorney for Hillsborough County, Florida. His first private sector associate position involved corporate and insurance defense in the Tampa Bay Area, including Allstate, Metropolitan, State Farm, Federated National and more.

Anthony went on to serve as a founding partner of the boutique firm Trial Lawyers of Alvarez Garcia where he assisted plaintiffs/defendants in civil and criminal matters. Garcia launched AG Law in 2015 as a solo practitioner. Since then, Anthony has dedicated his time to helping clients resolve injury, corporate, class action, and mass tort issues.

Anthony spent much of the past decade serving those affected by BP’s Deepwater Horizon Oil spill of 2010 (MDL 2179 In Re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig “Deepwater Horizon” in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010). Having represented hundreds of businesses and individuals from Florida, Louisiana and Alabama, Garcia negotiated and resolved nearly $20 million in economic loss and punitive damage claims. Throughout this time, Anthony developed a sound and proven infrastructure for analyzing and negotiating such actions. Having worked closely with federally appointed neutrals to the BP Oil Spill Settlement, Garcia developed an interest in efficient dispute resolution. Naturally, this experience led him to pursue the Florida Supreme Court’s licensure to practice mediation and arbitration services.

In addition to his legal wrangling, Anthony participates in a number of philanthropic causes and is highly active in his community. Mr. Garcia was chosen to participate in Tampa’s Mayor’s Neighborhood University where he discovered the hard work, diligence and inner workings of our local government. Such honors and learning experiences have proven beneficial to clients, local and afar. Most importantly, Anthony’s proudest moments are spent with his wife Shay and their two children, Lucca and Johanna.
