Biographical

After completion of law and business school at UNC- Chapel Hill, Mr. Bell joined the firm of Becton, Slifkin and Fuller, P.A. in Raleigh. concentrating in civil litigation. He became a partner in 1994 and represented clients primarily in serious personal injury and medical negligence cases until 2014. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of NC and the United States Supreme Court.

In 2006, Mr. Bell was certified as a mediator and his practice is exclusively limited to alternative dispute resolution throughout North Carolina.  He has mediated or arbitrated hundreds of cases involving church disputes, employment issues, automobile collisions, medical negligence, nursing home liability, general liability, real estate, State Tort Claims, and healthcare provider reimbursements.  Mr. Bell maintains a preeminent AV rating with Martindale- Hubbell and has been recognized by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America in the area of mediation.  In addition to his ADR practice, Mr. Bell is an ordained pastor.

Rates Information

RATES BELOW APPLY TO ALL MEDIATIONS/ARBITRATIONS HELD AFTER NOV 1, 2023.

MEDIATION- Admin Fee: $125.00 per party; Hourly Rate: $350.00 (minimum of 4 hours); Travel Hourly Rate: $250.00 outside of the Triangle; Mileage: Applicable Federal Rate. Cancellation Fees: If cancelled more than 2 weeks in advance, no fee.  $700 if cancelled between 1-2 weeks prior to scheduled mediation date. $1000 if cancelled less than 1 week prior to mediation date.

ARBITRATION- Admin Fee: $250; Hourly Rate: $400.00 (minimum of 4 billable hours/day); Travel Hourly Rate: $250 outside of the Triangle; Mileage - Applicable Federal Rate. As my calendar is scheduled months in advance, cancellation within 30 days of scheduled arbitration incurs 4 hour minimum charge per day if date cannot be filled with another mediation or arbitration.
