Hon. David A. White (Ret.)

David A. White joined Delaware ADR on November 1, 2024. In addition to his availability as a mediator and arbitrator, Commissioner White is available for Court appointments as a Special Magistrate and Discovery Facilitator.

Commissioner White served as Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the Delaware Supreme Court from March 2021 through October 2024.  For almost 20 years prior to his appointment as Chief Disciplinary Counsel, Commissioner White had a robust and successful ADR practice including during his tenure as a Commissioner of the Delaware Superior Court.

Commissioner White was the Wilmington, Delaware Office Managing Partner at McCarter & English for 13 years.  In addition to his robust ADR practice, Commissioner White also represented financial institutions and secured creditors in commercial loan workouts, related litigation, and bankruptcy.  He is skilled in the areas of alternative dispute resolution, complex commercial litigation and toxic tort litigation.

In conjunction with his active ADR and litigation practice, Mr. White served on McCarter & English's Pro Bono Committee, Accounts Receivable Committee, Ethics Committee, and Associates Mentoring Committee.  In recognition of his outstanding contributions to alternative dispute resolution, Commissioner White was awarded the Delaware State Bar Association's Kimmel/Thynge Award in 2021.  In December 2024, Commissioner White received the prestigious Delaware State Bar Association's Daniel L. Herrmann Professional Conduct Award.  Commissioner White is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Mediators and he is the President-Elect of the Delaware State Bar Association.
