Biographical

Mr. Fitzsimmons' mediation experience consists of more than 500 mediations including medical negligence, wrongful discharge, discrimination (age, racial, sex), products liability, FELA, professional negligence, wrongful death, personal injury, construction law, premises liability, business and employment litigation, commercial and class action disputes. Formerly, a principal in the St. Louis law firms of Gray & Ritter (1989-1999), Suelthaus & Kaplan (1985-1989), Fitzsimmons & Fitzsimmons (1970-1984), Chief Trial Attorney, Public Defender Bureau, St. Louis, Missouri (1968-1970). Mr. Fitzsimmons is a frequent author and lecturer on ADR. Since 1999, Mr. Fitzsimmons has concentrated his efforts as a full time mediator. Prior to that time, he was an active trial lawyer who tried more than 250 jury cases to a conclusion. For 18 years, he represented the defendant in all types of litigation and thereafter represented the plaintiff for 10 years between 1989-1999. He has been honored for his trial ability by being elected to Fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers, International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the International Society of Barristers.
