Hon. John Reese

Mr. Reese graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1968, moved to Alaska and practiced law in Alaska until he was appointed to the Superior Court bench in 1989. While practicing law, Mr. Reese was chairman of the Alaska Bar Association Fee Arbitration section, the Alaska Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee, Chair of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association, and presented many CLE programs on issues of trial practice, evidence, ethics and other specialized issues. 

Since retiring from the bench in 2004, Mr. Reese has focused exclusively on mediation, arbitration and early neutral evaluation. Over the last 50 years, Mr. Reese has worked throughout Alaska, with experience in resolving complex disputes in large towns and small villages.
