Biographical
A native Floridian, K. Judith Lane received her undergraduate degree from Stetson University and her law degree from the University of Florida, with honors. After serving as a law clerk with the Fifth District Court of Appeal, she spent 25 years as a civil litigator becoming Board Certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar prior to becoming a mediator.
In 2015, Judi joined Upchurch Watson White & Max and now works full-time as a professional neutral. “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubble, her litigation and alternative dispute resolution career has spanned virtually every type of civil litigation: business/corporations, employment, labor/unions, civil rights, real estate, eminent domain, probate & trusts, condo/HOA, landlord/tenant, construction, bankruptcy, personal injury, professional malpractice, intellectual property, government, education, aviation, divorce (high asset or business issues), and more, both at the trial level and on appeal. A full list of Judi's case experience can be found on her profile page.
Judi approaches every mediation with a goal for the parties not just of obtaining a settlement but that they find a way to do so in the most effective and efficient manner. Along with the tireless work ethic she brings to every single case, she is recognized by her clients for the mastery of negotiation skills and the arsenal of mediator tools she uses to help them overcome legal and practical obstacles that might otherwise prevent settlement or lead to impasse.
