Biographical
Karen Britt Peeler began her mediation and arbitration practice in 1994, drawing upon her experience as a civil litigator and trial attorney representing both plaintiffs and insurance companies. She also works with guardianships and trusts, particularly special needs trusts, and has elder law experience. She has mediated hundreds of cases, including civil disputes in the areas of personal injury, property damage, workers compensation, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, equitable distribution and family financial, child custody, business contract disputes, real estate litigation, construction law, employment matters, and lemon-law cases. She also has assisted in mediation training seminars.
Ms. Peeler is also an experienced arbitrator, concentrating in the areas of personal injury, property damage, general negligence, construction litigation and real property disputes.
Her 32 years of litigation experience includes a wide range of negligence matters: automobile, airplane, construction, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and product liability. She also has expereince in workers compensation, family law, and employment law. She served as claims counsel for Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance Company for a number of years, where she defended and managed legal malpractice claims, predominantly in the negligence, workers compensation, and family law areas.
