Biographical
Kathi Sandweiss, a former award-winning television journalist, enjoys a combined arbitration and appellate practice. She has practiced civil litigation nearly 4 decades and, since 2016, has been an active commercial arbitrator on the roster of the American Arbitration Association. In her capacity as a neutral, Kathi has resolved a variety of high dollar, complex commercial disputes including those involving UCC and agriculture law; complex pharmaceutical agreements; breach of license agreements; energy agreements; complex asbestos claims under settlement trusts; use of "baseball" or pendulum arbitration; online sales agreements; franchise agreements; service agreements; cannabis/CBD industry transactions; loan agreements; personal guarantees; Sherman Act/antitrust disputes; and landlord/tenant disputes. Kathi has chaired multiple three arbitrator panels including those in complex health care, cannabis industry disputes, and online sales. She is on the Executive Council of the ADR Section of the Arizona State Bar. Kathi is Rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named in Best Lawyers in America- Appellate Practice: every year, 2016 – 2025; Phoenix Magazine - Top Lawyer, Appellate Law, 2022, 2023, 2024; Best Lawyers, Women in the Law 2017; and won a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award in 1983.
