Biographical

Lisa Amato is a commercial litigation mediator and dispute resolution consultant. She has been working with parties throughout the Pacific Northwest since 2009.

Ms. Amato’s approach draws from her litigation experience representing plaintiffs and defendants to explore, appreciate and evaluate the parties’ nuanced and inherent concerns, objectives, and challenges. She mediates a broad range of disputes including employment and civil rights, business transactions, breach of contract and business torts, professional negligence, probate and elder, and real property rights.

Ms. Amato approaches each mediation with an emphasis on transparency, thoughtful evaluation, and curiosity. She understands that a path forward involves difficult decisions and compromises, and values the parties’ intelligence and experience.

Prior to Ms. Amato’s career as a full time mediator, she maintained a civil trial practice since 1992 and tried cases to verdict in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington.
