Biographical
Hamlet Law founding partner H. Mark Hamlet focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction law, product liability, health care law, and insurance coverage and defense. Mark has been representing clients in Wilmington, N.C., for more than 30 years. He has tried more than 50 jury cases as lead counsel within North Carolina’s state and federal courts. He also has extensive appellate experience that includes published opinions in the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mark is admitted to the North Carolina State Bar and South Carolina State Bar. He also is admitted to practice in North Carolina’s U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mark is a member of the New Hanover County Bar Association and North Carolina Bar Association, where he has served on the Construction Law Section Council. He also has served as chair of the Construction Section of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and is a past president of the Fifth Judicial District Bar.
While Mark is an experienced litigator, his passion is in his role as a mediator. Mark has mediated more than 400 cases throughout North Carolina. Mark is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission as a mediator for court ordered mediations in North Carolina. Following a peer-vote review and a series of client interviews, Mark was inducted into the North Carolina Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals in 2025.
