Biographical
Mr. Silverstein was certified as a Florida Supreme Court Circuit-Civil mediator in 1994. Since that time he has devoted himself to the process of resolving both private and court-ordered disputes through the mediation process. He will diligently and unconditionally exhaust all possible measures to facilitate fair, reasonable, and acceptable compromises on behalf of disputing parties.
Through the dynamic process of mediation, Mr. Silverstein provides adversaries the opportunity, forum, and resources to thoroughly consider various creative alternatives to litigation in order to resolve their disputes on their own terms. Mediation has proven to be a smart and cost effective means to effect closure and have control over the outcome of a disputed matter. Hundreds of parties and their counsel have benefited from Mr. Silverstein's mediation skills in achieving settlement.
Mr. Silverstein also serves as an arbitrator for private and court-ordered disputes, with panels administered through the American Arbitration Association and the Florida and federal courts. Arbitration serves to conclude the dispute resolution process when the parties are unable to compromise and reach settlement on their own through mediation. Mediation is not a condition precedent to arbitration. Arbitrated decisions are as binding as final judgments in litigated proceedings, and usually more streamlined, efficient, and cost effective. Mr. Silverstein's vast commercial litigation experience provides significant insight and weight to his role as a decision-maker for commercial arbitrations.
