Biographical
Patrick Keel is a former state district judge. For over 16 years he has been a full-time mediator and arbitrator, helping resolve thousands of disputes involving all areas of civil litigation. Keel is also an adjunct professor in the trial advocacy program at the University of Texas School of Law and a member of Professional Ethics Committee for the State Bar of Texas. He has testified as an expert witness on Texas civil procedure and recovery of attorney fees.
In 2018, Keel received the Austin Bar Association’s Professionalism Award, sponsored by the Texas Center for Legal Ethics. In 2017, he was selected as the UT Law Alumni Association’s Mentor of the Year.
Keel is a fifth-generation Austinite. His hobbies include trail walking with his dogs, water skiing, and snow skiing. He is also a decent cook.
