Biographical

Originally a major law firm commercial and corporate lawyer,  for several years Richard Lutringer  has primarily acted as as a mediator of complex corporate, commercial and family business disputes. He has had over 250 hours of advanced training as a mediator, and is certified as a Family Business Advisor by the Family Firm Institute. Disputes mediated by Mr. Lutringer range from those between members of small and family owned businesses (including among the second generation), to domestic and international industrial, investment and financial companies.

Mr Lutringer participates annually as a judge/mediator at the ICC Mediation Advocacy Competition. He has also mentored mediators and law students for the ABA, NYCBA, NYSBA and NY area law schools.

Among other articles, Mr. Lutringer authored "Mediating Business Divorce Disputes"(NY Dispute Resolution Lawyer, Fall 2009) and was the principal author of "Resolving Disputes Among Small Business Owners" (NYSBA, DR Section, White Paper 1/11). In April 2012, he co-presented a workshop entitled "Resolving Disputes among Owners of Closely-Held and Family Businesses" at St. John's University Law School (September 2012) the 2012 and 2013 ACR Annual Conferences, as well as the  2013 NYSDRA Annual Conference. He was also a panelist at the ABA Business Law Section Semiannual Conference in Los Angeles in February 2014 on "Deal Mediation". In February 2014 he chaired a program at NY County Surrogate's Court on using mediation to resolve family disputes in probate proceedings.
