In 2018 Judge Sankovitz concluded a 22-year career on the circuit court bench in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 2019 he began serving as a mediator, arbitrator and special master. He has presided in almost 200 cases so far. As a mediator, he has helped parties achieve settlements with an aggregate value of almost $20 million.

During his time on the bench, Judge Sankovitz presided in almost 300 jury trials. He is among the most experienced and highly regarded former members of the faculty of the Wisconsin Judicial College. In 2015, the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates named him Trial Judge of the Year. Twice he was recommended to the President by the Wisconsin Federal Nominating Commission and Wisconsin’s Senators for nomination to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and once for nomination to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Before taking the bench he was a shareholder in the law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. (now the Milwaukee office of Husch Blackwell LLP). His practice concentrated in business and commercial litigation.

Rates Information

$350 per hour, divided among the parties; $300 per hour in family law disputes; a deposit may be requested
